One of the finest Aligote wines I have ever come across. From the tiny producer, Domaine de la Saraziniere. Plenty of acidity as is usual for this wine, but backed up by weight and minerality. A touch of barrel aging is the key and has given fullness lacking from so many other's.

Stunning find from the south of Burgundy. A tiny producer making sublime wines. This white Macon from this tiny producer is elegant, mineral and shows lovely ripe fruit on the nose with fresh acidity and a long finish. A great wine to rival some of the bigger names in the north!

Cracking wine from the master of Riesling, unlike the DR L cuvee this is made from grapes grown by Ernie Loosen. Light floral nose with good fresh acidity on the palate. Lots of fruit including a touch of pink. Fantastic classic german rielsing. Price: £8.25

One of the top wineries in New Zealand whose Sauvignon attained iconic status long ago. But the often overlooked Riesling is also a star. All the fruit is hand picked, the wine is very mineral in character, steely dry but with a nice weight of fruit and a touch of honey.

85% Hondarrbi Zuri 15% Hondarrbi Beltza
Unusual wine from Northern Spain just west of San Sebastian. A perfect tapas wine it is fresh, crisp, with a touch of prickle on the palate and underlying tropical fruit. The Zuri lends the fresh lemon zip and the Beltza rounds it of with a smooth finish.

Really good Pinot Grigio is very hard to come by, most of it is pretty dull. This is what it should be like, good clean ripe fruit with nice depth of flavour and great mineral balance. The acidity is crisp and fresh making it a great fish wine.

Alain Paret is an acclaimed Rhone producer so much so that Gerard Depardieu invested in his vineyard after tasting his Condrieu. This is the same grape but from different vineyards. Fresh and floral this has great acidity and nice ripe fruit. It is a pleasure to drink.

Classy white from a lesser known appellation. Menetou borders Sancerre and shares many of its qualities. Bone dry, minerality with delicate floral aromas. Crisp clean acidity, definite citrus fruit, it's better than many a sancerre trading off a name.

An often unnoticed area, south of the river from Vouvray. Chidaine is the appellations leading producer and is committed to Bio-dynamics. Ripe stone fruit on the nose with minerals and chalk. Soft slightly honeyed fruit on the palate with great acidity and a minerally finish.

2005 'Les Choisilles' Montlouis sur Loire - Francois Chidaine
100% Chenin Blanc
This is one of the top dry whites from Bio-Dynamic producer Francois Chidaine. We believe him to be the best in Montlouis and probably in the top two or three producers of dry Chenin Blanc in the World. Soft honeyed stone fruit on the nose, dry palate characterised by plenty of acidity and a very mineral finish. This has started to open up and develop with a few years age and will continue to improve with careful storage.

Made from the oldest vines on the property the grapes are allowed to ripen a little more than usual they are hand harvested and sorted and aged in new and old French oak for up to 1 year. It is very complex with dried apricot and citrus balanced by very mineral acidity.
